FAITH PROPOSAL
A series of photomontages representing a proposal for an installation in Coventry Cathedral.
On spending time in the Cathedral, two sites became very obvious contenders for the installation. The Chapel of Christ in Gethsemane and the 'Theatre Wall' opposite the John Piper Baptistery Window.
Opinions were split over the best potential siting. Each would present the work in a very different way. The 'Theatre Wall' installation would be very grand and spectacular; a truly gothic statement bearing down on the nave of the Cathedral. The other installation would be very human in scale; something to encounter quietly on a one to one basis.
Given the theme of the Gethsemane Chapel and my aspirations for the piece, the human scale version was my final decision.
